Your Personal Identifying Information (PII)
Personally Identifying Information is data that can be traced or linked to a single user or individual.
User information and content
Users may have other data, aside from PII, that is sensitive and data that is proprietary.
Levels of sharing
Generally, users may choose how much visibility others will have to their data. A user can choose to share some of their content publicly, share it more discretely, or keep things entirely private.
When user data is no longer private
PII, proprietary, personal and/or sensitive data is potentially available to others under the following circumstances:
- Where you are sharing data, possibly even sensitive data, with other people using the platform
- Where malicious actors gain unauthorized access into your personal devices or, potentially breaking into the online back-end systems
- Where law enforcement uses legal authority to compel our company to share your data in the context of an investigation
Aside from the inadvertent cases just mentioned, your data is never shared. Galleon does not collect, track or store any user data or any analyzed that data except in ways that keep individuals anonymous. This is done mainly so that the user experience can be enhanced. We may allow anonymous (non-linked) data to be analyzed for humanitarian purposes as well. This privileged view of your data will not be used for nefarious ways. It is never used for monetization purposes, outside of making improvements to the platform and its associated applications.
User content
User content will not be shared by the Platform or platform users outside of actions directly taken by the user that is also the owner of that data.
In the case where Galleon is run locally, in other words entirely on a user's personal device, there is no kept data that will be able to be linked to any specific user.
Usage information
We do track usage of features and applications and link that usage data to an account key in order to establish usage of the application for each account. For paid keys the user's email will then be linked to that account key, but we do not make this public.
The data we collect from all users is used to help us in the following ways:- To help us determine what features are valuable to our customers and require development focus.
- To help us determine if reporting spans overlap, so we can prevent account keys from being distributed and/or shared.
None of the browsing behavior, clicking activity or web page interactions of any user is tracked, monitored, analyzed or reported in any way by the Galleon app. The only behavior being sent with usage data reporting are the actions taken in the browser tab in which the UD application resides.
Collecting and storing data
User data is stored for the following legitimate purposes:
Your email address
A personal email address is required in order to register and use the Galleon platform. One exception is the "test-drive" page that does not require registration. When a user registers, we verify your email and then keep it in our database, linked with your account key. Emails are kept confidential, and are not used except to provide support and guidance to you as a customer.
No billing information is stored or kept by the platform.
Changes to this policy
Any changes to this policy will be updated here. In the future, should the need arise to make changes to this policy, this url will be used, as well as direct email to customers.
